ABOUT ABOUT

Blue Fire Theatre presents - NATROM BAND, LLC, also known as Nanette Autry's Traveling Revue of Motown August 26th at the Yulee Lions Club. Doors open at 5:30 - music begins at 6:30.

NATROM BAND, LLC, also known as Nanette Autry's Traveling Revue of Motown, is a community-based R & B BAND that was organized on July 11, 2019. Our singers, musicians and staff number approximately 25 people. We are located on the shores of Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach, Florida. Our focus is the classical music of Berry Gordy, Jr's Motown. Our first and only concert so far, was held on February 29, 2020. Because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, our future concert schedule for March and April were cancelled. Members of the band hail from Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach, Yulee, Jacksonville and Gainesville, Florida and Kingsland-St. Mary's, Georgia. NATROM endeavors to perform throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, providing an entertaining show with an historical perspective that reaches all ages and ethnicities.

Nanette Autry's Traveling Revue of Motown (NATROM) was born out of Autry's desire to exhibit the performing arts contributions of African American artists to the local community.

In July 2019, Gary Strohminger, Arranger and Keyboardist for "An Evening of Motown," approached Autry about the possibility of presenting the Motown show as a series of festival events produced in a 50-mile radius of Fernandina Beach. Autry was sold on the ideas and most of the "Evening of Motown" participants agreed to stay on, while Strohminger and Autry recruited additional band members. The first practice session was held on Saturday November 23, 2019 and billed as the "Meet and Greet" Jam Session. The official logos for the NATROM Band were revealed by graphic designer, Dearsha D. Johnson at the Jam Session, as well.
